Georgia Independance Day Festival!

2010 will be the 5th year we perform at GIDF. This year Merry Peterson will be joining us, and Angela will be doing a few songs with us and also performing with the "Dulcet Dames," an 1940's style a-capella Americana group. Tenpenny has some new material this year, including a cover of "Shot Heard Round the World." As always - STAY FOR FIREWORKS!
ALSO: Failure to update - All Tara's Fault!
Oh yeah, we have a web site!

Quazi Famous? Woot!

I was too busy with holiday stuff to notice this, but according to Angie, one of our songs, "Dapper Dan" (the one about the pirate) made the cut for the RenFest PodCast‘s compilation CD!

It‘s for sale at: http://cdbaby.com/cd/renaissancefestival/from/celtic/

Part of the proceeds for this CD go to a performer emergency fund to help out those in the faire circuit. The rest supports the podcast. We, the performers get bragging rights, which is enough for me!

Our own CD is available at http://cdbaby.com/cd/tenpennytravelers, or you can ask one of and save the shipping charges.

Wow, maybe we should get off our holiday-lazy butts and start rehearsing for a new recording!

PiratePalooza!

As I‘m sure you all know, September 19th is International-Talk-Like-A-Pirate-Day (popularised by Dave Barry)...
But did you also know that the event is celebrated locally with the Annual PiratePalooza PubCrawl, on September 15th, the closest Saturday (because even pirates have to work on weekdays - blast!). There will be a mob of people dressed as pirates, talking like pirates, and drinking beer. What could go wrong?

Oh, and also there will be a lot of local bands playing pirate-themed music, including the Tenpenny Travelers. I hear they ain‘t too bad.

More Gigs!

We will be at the Georgia Independence Day Festival again this year on July 3rd and 4th. We can be found at the Tavern Porch at 3:30, 5:00, 6:30, and 8:00.
There are fireworks at the end of both days festivities and last year they were one of the better fireworks displays that I have seen. I think we‘ll be bringing back our version of Yankee Doodle complete with spoons again ;-)

*We‘re also confirmed for this year‘s Piratepalooza. We donvt know many details yet, but we‘ll be there. We‘re learning a slew of new songs for this gig too. If you‘ve got a piratical song you think we should do, let us know!

and yes, there are still plans for a second CD. It‘s tough getting in the studio again when we‘re working on gigs. We like gigs, but we also want our second CD to get started!

TPT will be at the Georgia Independence Day Festival July 3 and 4.

It’s a recreation of a colonial village from 1776 and news has just arrived from Philadelphia that the Declaration of Independence has been signed. There are colonial villagers, baroque dancers, fights, musicians and everyone’s favorites- FIREWORKS!

TPT will be performing at 4:00 (tavern porch), 6:00 (main barn-miked!), and 8:00 (tavern porch).

Also, we have Ray Heffner filling in on guitar for this gig! If you’ve never heard him play before, you’re in for a treat.

The GID Fest runs 3:00 -9:00 on both days.

More information can be found at www.gidfestival.com. Hope to see you there!

We should also have an account soon with CD Baby for online orders. More on that soon.

We‘re all very excited to have our first album available and hope you will like it too! Thanks so much to Ed King for all of his help and hard work in doing the techno-magic part of this process at Far-a-Field Studios.
