Tenpenny News and Announcements
PiratePalooza, 2010 (In DecatARR!)
Georgia Independance Day Festival!
ALSO: Failure to update - All Tara's Fault!
Oh yeah, we have a web site!
Congratulations Angela!
Wow!
Quazi Famous? Woot!
I was too busy with holiday stuff to notice this, but according to Angie, one of our songs, "Dapper Dan" (the one about the pirate) made the cut for the RenFest PodCast‘s compilation CD! It‘s for sale at: http://cdbaby.com/cd/renaissancefestival/f
Part of the proceeds for this CD go to a performer emergency fund to help out those in the faire circuit. The rest supports the podcast. We, the performers get bragging rights, which is enough for me!
Our own CD is available at http://cdbaby.com/cd/tenpennytravelers, or you can ask one of and save the shipping charges.
Wow, maybe we should get off our holiday-lazy butts and start rehearsing for a new recording!
PiratePalooza!
But did you also know that the event is celebrated locally with the Annual PiratePalooza PubCrawl, on September 15th, the closest Saturday (because even pirates have to work on weekdays - blast!). There will be a mob of people dressed as pirates, talking like pirates, and drinking beer. What could go wrong?
Oh, and also there will be a lot of local bands playing pirate-themed music, including the Tenpenny Travelers. I hear they ain‘t too bad.
Arr.
More Gigs!
There are fireworks at the end of both days festivities and last year they were one of the better fireworks displays that I have seen. I think we‘ll be bringing back our version of Yankee Doodle complete with spoons again ;-)
*We‘re also confirmed for this year‘s Piratepalooza. We donvt know many details yet, but we‘ll be there. We‘re learning a slew of new songs for this gig too. If you‘ve got a piratical song you think we should do, let us know!
and yes, there are still plans for a second CD. It‘s tough getting in the studio again when we‘re working on gigs. We like gigs, but we also want our second CD to get started!
